Happy thoughts

This morning Mike and I drove to Salt Lake to have some tests ran for our new health insurance package, we can receive a discount on our health insurance if we participate in the APPLE program. The snow was falling as we drove in the morning rush and then after being told that I had awesome blood pressure and cholesterol readings but am officially obese according to standards set by who knows we stopped in at Village Inn and had a breakfast date. What a fun morning with my date Mike, I love him.
Now just to share with you the sights in my home that are bringing me 'Happy Thoughts' on this blustery Spring day.
My incredibly sweet pink peony pin.
Easter Bunny peering out from behind pic of my adorable parents.

Sweet blue eggs in glass cloche.

Nest with eggs sitting happily on a pedestal.

Mike's and my family tree in the entry.

Chocolate bunny driving a sports car.

Chocolate bunny riding in chariot pulled by Easter chick (makes me think of Charleston Heston parting the red sea).

Chocolate bunny hitching a ride on a red rooster.

Flower covered eggs.

Snickerdoodle blondies made with love.
(Thank you for the recipe Erin!)

Look around you and search out what brings you happy thoughts today! Hope you all have an incredible weekend.

This sweet sugar egg was given to me when my Great Aunt Dode passed away. I love the little hummingbird egg candies and the pond(mirror) that Peter Cottontail is standing by! Takes me right back to being small and wanting to live inside this egg.

Have a great day and take time to look at something that makes you happy!

YOU SHALL NOT PASS!

O.K., today after school Cotton was making giggle and pee a little with this performance. I kept on thinking of Wizard of OZ, The Princess Bride and a Disney book I read to my boys ALL THE TIME when they were small - MICKEY AND THE GIANT. I think this post is one of those that only a mom feels is blog worthy.

St. Paddy's Day

What a great day of wearing the green. Today started early, I opened the Scentsy booth at the Holy Cow boutique in Pleasant Grove. I love working this boutique, it is well advertised and there are many great booths that I love to see there.

I am amazed how much Scentsy has grown in the last three years. I love Scentsy.

Two years ago Scentsy introduced Plug-ins and they have been so popular! Here is a look at our plug-in display, so fun.

Tristan and Justus get off to school in the morning at 7:30 a.m. and I have been known on occasion to ask them to please tip toe into my room and give me a kiss and whisper goodbye while my eyes remain closed. When Tristan walked in the door this afternoon from school I laughed so hard when I saw what he wore to school for St Paddy's, his green bathrobe that he purchased from D.I. for 5 bones. He is such a funny character!

I must admit that the most joyous part of St. Paddy's day is when I learned I was a Grandma! Meet Franklin Cotton Fitzsimmons. Poor Cotton is trying to catch some shut eye before his computerized baby from his Adult Roles class at school wakes up.

Makes a Grandma proud (I think he has my eyes).

Cotton does not know who the mom is but, he has asked his friend Jeni to be a foster mom.

I also enjoyed a pedicure with two of my friends Tanya and Ali.

We had a well-deserved time-out and I am so grateful for it!

The day of green ended with a delicious meal of corned beef, cabbage and baby red potatoes with vinegar of course.

Happy Birthday baby!

Tomorrow is my sweet husband's 41st birthday. I'm sure he will agree that his 40th year was quite an adventure, and I know he is excited about the year to come! My husband never stops! He is always busy with work, family, life! Not much time for sleep. Happy Birthday Mike, I love you and am glad we chose each other.

Boys and Chocolate Chip Cookies

Last Weekend my family and I took a quick trip to Phoenix for my great-niece Bella's blessing. This is a 11-12 hour drive but so worth it to be there for this sweet event. My parents have been in Phoenix for two months and I was excited to see them too. Here is my beautiful mom feeding beautiful Bella.
After the blessing we had a yummy lunch of ham, potato salad, pistachio salad, rolls, dips with chips and french bread and these yummy cookies. We made 2 batches of cookies, each had 6 cups of flour in them and they were eaten immediately by all.
Aunt Lori makes sure she has chocolate syrup for Justus when he comes. He has a problem with chocolate milk.

J.J. my nephew is a sweetheart with a goofy sense of humor.

Cotton and Jacob, can you say TROUBLE?!!!

Tristan was excited that Meigen came home from school for the weekend.

I will post pics from the blessing day soon. Had so much fun. Here is the yummy cookie recipe, enjoy!
Mrs. Field's Cookies
1 bloody pound of butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 cups brown sugar

2 T. vanilla
6 cups flour

I can almost taste it.

This morning I can almost taste it... The sky is blue the Sun is out and the snow is melted. Soon birds will be singing, Crocus will be pushing the earth up and blooming - Bless their hearts -, and the baby lambs at Christofferson farm will be born. I love Spring. Have a great day!
